William Hill and Bet-at-Home have joined the German sports betting association DSWV saying they want to contribute to the debate regarding the advancement of gambling regulation in Germany.
Bet-at-Home said legal certainty is essential to justify its current commitments in terms of German team sponsorships which already underline its keen interest in the German sports betting market.
Claus Retschitzegger, Head of Legal and Communication at bet-at-home.com said: “With our current commitment as a shirt sponsor at Hertha BSC and further partnerships we already have a great interest in the German sports betting market underlined. We need a legal certainty in the online gaming market in Germany.”
Michael Leadbeater, Head of the Legal Department at William Hill, added: “For more than 80 years, William Hill has offered sports betting, in the United Kingdom as well as in a variety of other markets and could in. William Hill sees the cooperation with other suppliers from the industry as an essential tool for a successful market regulation at. The company is pleased, therefore, to bring xpertise in the debate around the regulation of being introduced into the German sports betting market.”
DSWV-President Mathias Dahms added: “The successful regulation of the European sports betting markets on the principles of an open market requires a broad product range, commercially reasonable control systems and the integration of the leading sports betting companies.
