Next visual emitted by Telewizja Republika concerns potential amendment of Gambling Law. Since the beginning of the year a lot of information about changing this law occured. However, Ministry of Finance denies every rumor on this subject.
Interviewed by Telewizja Polska, Paweł Jurek from Finance Ministry’s press office repeated the statement. Delay in potential amendment of Gambling Law may be caused by recent changes in staff of Gambling Market Regulation Departament, which is in charge of the act, and uncertain position of minister Paweł Szałamacha.
According to experts, Poland would benefit from changing the regulations; even some politicians agree with that. For example, Przemysław Wipler from political party KORWiN draws attention to Polish poker players, who are moving from Poland and succeding abroad, because Poland lacks proper taxing regulations on such winnings.
Artur Górczyński, former deputy, pointed out the nonsenses resulting from current regulations. As an example he gave the possibility of organizing poker tournament with simultaneous prohibition of its advertising. According to former leader of Parliamentary Group for effective regulations of poker, optimum solution would be writing the act again from scratch.
Janusz Szewczyk from PiS pointed out that due to uneffective law and taxing regulations Polish budget loses up to 2,5 billion zł. According to deputy, Poland should follow the example of other countries and make proper changes in this market area.
