It is highly likely that the only casino in Szczecin will move to Dana Hotel, the city’s newest hotel. The location has been approved by the City Council committee for the promotion, development and management.
The Ministry of Finance requires an approval from the City Council in order to grant a license for operating a casino. Today, there are only two casinos in the Zachodniopomorskie province – one in Koszalin and the other in Szczecin’s Pazim building by Plac Rodła. The license to run Szczecin’s only casino expires in September 2017.
Warsaw-based company Casino, which runs the casino in the Pazim building, has submitted a request to Szczecin’s City Council for the approval of the casino’s new location.
The Committee for the Promotion and Development of Maritime Economy reviewed the request on Tuesday. It turns out that the company has proposed a new location for the casino – the Dana Hotel on Aleja Wyzwolenia, the newest hotel in Szczecin.
“This isn’t about a new casino, but a new location,” said Bazyli Baran (Civic Platoform), chairman of the committee.
