Online gaming operator 888 has announced that it will launch in Denmark and Romania after acquiring licences in the countries.
The operator, which has launched a revised takeover bid for online gaming company bwin.party in a bid to fend off rival interest from GVC Holdings, has been authorised to launch three of its brands in the countries.
888poker, 888casino and 888sport, all of which now operate in several regulated markets across the world, are currently open for registration and are available for real money play in the newly-regulated Romanian market.
An official launch in Denmark will follow this coming Monday.
“Thanks to the hard work of our team and the regulators involved, we are excited to offer our entertaining, secure and trusted gaming brands to players from Romania and Denmark,” 888 chief operating officer Itai Frieberger said.
“Launching in two regulated markets concurrently is another testimony of our ability to leverage our regulated technology and knowhow in delivering our market-leading products.
“We are proud to offer the 888 marquee brands in these markets, reaffirming our strategy to become a dominant operator in global gaming regulations.”
